Wishing people good morning
|
Morning.
In recent days, I've taken to going for an early morning walk. Along with dog walkers, early commuters and others. I'm not normally a particularly extrovert person, but have started wishing people I pass a good morning. For a few people, this seems to intrude on their personal space and all they can manage in return is a grunt of unwelcome acknowledgement, but most seem to appreciate the greeting with a smile and a cheery response in kind.
I like that.
Y'all have a nice day now.

I love it. Being friendly with strangers gives you both a warm feeling. Got it all the time in South Africa, but obviously virtually never in England.

I always like the challenge of getting somebody to say good morning/hello! Living in the country, I think more people are inclined to say hello, but sometimes in a town/city I forget that people are not always so friendly!

I'm not a morning person so don't appreciate a stranger talking to me at stupid o'clock.

After moving out from London, I found it a bit strange that everybody here greets you.
First time I took the dog out, someone asked me "How do?"
Hadn't heard that for yonks.
Obviously I ignored him.

Used to be if you was a lonely bloke and wanted to meet a woman you would spend a few hours in the grocery section in Asda's... now it's get a dog... especially a puppy.... women love puppies... obviously if you have not pulled by the time the dog is out of puppyhood then just drown that and get another one...

I generally then to find that if I am up and out particularly early when its still quiet anyone you come across either offer a good morning or are very receptive to a good morning.
It's a bit later in the day when all the rude cunts wake up.
